Speedy commutes and great value for money in property in Stratford and London’s East End

Find out more

With many people focusing on the Tube when it comes to location in London, our estate agents in Bow would like to remind you that the Docklands Light Railway is also a great option for commuters. If you are thinking of renting in E3, then there are plenty of good options to be had along the line.

Value for Money in Stratford Property

There are many locations along the line which offer better value for money than the splendour of Canary Wharf. You may not get residential gyms or swimming pools but you will get a solid rental in some great areas. Stratford is one such place that is developing into a great place to live.

It is a busy area with a thriving high street and it has been developed continually since 2012. It has three DLR stops but behind those railway lines are some lovely Victorian townhouses. There is a large shared renting population and a young vibe in the area. Rents on 3 bed properties range from £1,550 per month to £2,000 depending on the age and condition of the property.

Prefer a village feel with easy access to Greenwich & Bow?

Having had considerable investment over the last number of years, Bow and surrounding DLR serviced areas are definitely worth a look.

If you need more in the way of amenities but still want value for money there are some great options. Deptford Bridge station gives you access to Greenwich and all of it’s charms, including Greenwich Park. The area has some lovely conversions on offer in Mumford Mills and if you prefer a flat then Distillery Tower is one good option.

Another gem on the line is Bow Church. There are plenty of Victorian houses on offer here, many converted into flats. With plenty of eateries and bars within a short walk there is lots going on. With prices averaging c. £1,630 per month for a two bed flat in both areas they are definitely worth a look.

Choice Abound on the DLR

These electric trains are music to our ears. Literally. They are quiet and comfortable and most stations are above ground. They give commuters some views, plenty of fresh air and a host of stops and connections than can bring you onward to your destination no matter what part of London you may work or live.

The fact that they are less claustrophobic than the tube is a bonus for many of their passengers. Another bonus is that all DLR stations have step free access from the street to the train. With many stops in zones 2, 3 and 4 the Docklands Light Rail is simply not to be overlooked.
