Improved Services benefit landlords & tenants in London boroughs
Transport for London (TfL) has announced its decision to increase proposed services on Crossrail’s Elizabeth Line, due to open in December 2019. Some services will be twice as frequent as the original proposal stated, making a substantial difference to journey times and reducing crowding on the trains at the same time. The increase in frequency will also ease pressure on other parts of London’s transport network.
Peak-time services from Reading will double from two to four trains per hour and services to Maidenhead will increase from four to six trains per hour.
Off-peak services between Paddington and Whitechapel will be increased from 16 trains as initially planned to 20 trains per hour, while an additional two trains per hour will run between Paddington and Shenfield and Paddington and Abbey Wood
Trains will now also call at Heathrow Terminal 5, meaning all Heathrow Terminals will be served by the Elizabeth line.
“The improved service is likely to make outer London boroughs such as Hillingdon even more appealing to landlords and tenants,” say the estate agents in our Hayes office. “We’re seeing landlords tapping into the more buoyant west London property market as interest in the area grows. It’s still a great area for renting – while prices have increased in anticipation of Crossrail, they still compare very favourably with central London rents.”
